Gordon T Smith is an author, theologian and professor – working to cultivate a thoughtful Christian faith in readers and students. He served for many years in senior academic leadership in Asia and in Canada – and continues to appreciate the unique and powerful role that academic institutions can have in fostering human flourishing. In the meantime, he has accepted a role as Teaching Fellow at Regent College, Vancouver, as his prime focus for his work as a classroom instructor. He enjoys both the more formal academic setting and leading week-end seminars for congregations – on topics such as “vocation, work and career” and “in the meantime – fostering hopeful resilience in a secular age.” Gordon is married to Joella and together they have two adult sons and six grandchildren.
Gordon T Smith will be serving as the Executive Director of Christian Higher Education Canada (CHEC) – effective September 1, 2024 – an association of 34 Canadian-based universities, colleges and theological seminaries. He comes to this responsibility after many years in senior academic administration, in Asia and then in Canada.
